Aspidistra

Aspidistra (Aspidistra elatior):
This plant is known as the “Cast Iron Plant.” It earned this name because it’s almost impossible to kill! If you have a space with very low light or you tend to forget watering your plants, Aspidistra is one of the toughest and best choices for you.
Appearance:
It has broad, long, dark green, leathery leaves that grow directly from the soil. Its look is simple, elegant, and dignified.
Light:
It easily tolerates shade and very low light. In fact, direct sunlight is harmful and can burn the leaves, causing them to turn brown.
Watering:
Highly drought-tolerant. Let the soil dry out completely before watering again. In winter, reduce watering to a minimum.
Humidity:
Normal indoor humidity is perfectly fine. It does not react to dry air at all.
Soil:
Regular potting soil with good drainage works great. It’s not picky about soil type.
Temperature:
It tolerates a wide range of temperatures (10 to 25°C). It grows best at normal room temperature.
Toxicity:
Non-toxic and safe for pets and children (a great choice for homes with curious animals).
Tip:
This plant grows very slowly, so be patient. Wipe its leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to keep them shiny. Its only real enemy is overwatering, which can cause root rot.
