Light: Requires indirect, filtered light. In nature, ferns live under the shade of large trees; so direct sunlight will immediately burn their delicate leaves.
Watering: Very important! Ferns like soil to be constantly moist (not waterlogged). If the soil dries out completely, the leaves will quickly turn brown and dry.
Humidity: This is the biggest challenge. Ferns love high humidity. Dry apartment environments are deadly for them. Daily misting, using a cool mist humidifier, or placing them in the bathroom (if there is enough light) are great for them.
Temperature: Likes moderate temperatures (15 to 22 degrees). Avoid direct air from air conditioners or heaters that dry the air.
Toxicity: Most common fern species are considered pets (although some specific species are exceptions), but they are generally considered safe plants for dogs and cats. Non-toxic
