Rhapis excelsa (Lady Palm):
This plant, often called Lady Palm, is a stylish and durable indoor palm. With its fan-shaped leaves and neat appearance, it is very popular for indoor spaces.
Appearance:
It has glossy green, fan-shaped leaves with a slow, upright growth habit and a very neat, classic look.
Light:
Prefers medium to bright indirect light. It can tolerate low light, but growth will be slower. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.
Watering:
Water when the top 2 to 4 cm of soil has dried out. The soil should remain slightly moist but not waterlogged. In winter, increase the time between watering.
Humidity:
It tolerates normal indoor humidity, but moderate humidity helps keep the leaves healthier and more vibrant.
Soil:
Use light soil with good drainage. A mix of potting soil, perlite, and a small amount of cocopeat or peat moss is suitable.
Temperature:
The ideal temperature is around 18 to 28 degrees Celsius. It is sensitive to cold and cold drafts.
Toxicity:
Generally considered non-toxic to pets.
Fertilizing:
During the growing season, feed with a diluted balanced fertilizer every 3 to 4 weeks.
